Message from the Principal

I am Kendra Holcomb the proud principal of Whitehead Elementary School. I am privileged to be the principal of such an amazing school. As the principal, it is my desire that we cultivate a community of scholars, staff and parents, in which the academic learning of scholars is our primary goal. Our staff is committed to providing focused curriculum that is both engaging and challenging.

I was raised in Salinas, CA.  I graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Liberal Studies, as well as my multiple subject teaching credential. I was an elementary school teacher for 9 years and then became an Instructional Coach for 3 years in the Fresno Unified School District. I later pursued and obtained my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and my Administrative Credential from Fresno State University.

Whitehead Elementary School is destined for amazing things in 2017-2018! The gifts and talents of our scholars combined with the dedication and passion of our teachers allows us to strive for excellence. Excellence is not the result of a good intention or clever slogan. It is not a value that is easily achieved. It comes from a strong desire to improve how we do things when we see something we can do better. We continue to work hard to ensure that Whitehead Elementary School will be recognized as a school that sets their scholars and teachers up for success. As we strive for excellence, we will move from Good to GREAT!  Remember it’s always a great day when you soar the Eagle way!
